1) Accepting the Terms of Use

By creating an account on The New City, you are hereby subject to following the rules of this forum site at all times. The staff of The New City reserves the right to ban or suspend your account if you fail to follow the terms of use.

2) Your Account

Offensive usernames will not be tolerated. Any accounts with an offensive name will be suspended until the owner chooses a new name.

If you create a second account, that account will be immediately terminated and an automatic suspension of your first account for seven days will occur. After this, any chance of being selected to act as a moderator or administrator of the forums will be slim to none.  Alternate accounts are now permitted on The New City Mark II (hosted by Jcink) unlike on the first forum. Be sure to register your account with the same email address as you did your first account to allow for your second, third, etc. accounts to be recorded as an alternate account. This information will be kept private.

If you lose your password, you are to email or contact an administrator to request to be given a new password. At which time, you are to go into your account and change your password. If you lose your email address that your account is connected to, you will not be able to get your email address changed for your account.

3) Community Rules

3.1) Prohibited Content

You may not post in a topic, post in the shoutbox, upload, send an email or a private message on The New City containing one or more of the following:

• Content that infringes upon any rights, including, but not limited to, copyrights and trademarks
• Abusive, threatening, defamatory, racist, or obscene content
• Viruses or any other harmful computer software
• Spam, chain letters, or pyramid schemes
• Gambling or illicit drugs
• Terrorism
• Hacking or cheating for internet or online games
• Warez, Roms, CD-Keys, Cracks, Passwords or Serial Numbers
• Pornography, nudity, or sexual material of any kind
• Invasion of privacy or impersonation of any person or entity
• Hacking materials or information

3.2) Content Screening

Please note that any forum hosting site is allowed to delete any material that is posted and happens to be against their Terms of Service, which is roughly outlined in this Terms of Use guide for The New City. While the administration of The New City may not be as strict, if required by the forum host to change our policies, the administration is forced to comply with their rules.

4) Closing

The administration of The New City reserves the right to change or edit these rules at any time as long as members are notified of a change by email or the private message system. Loopholes of the Terms of Use are to be reported to the administration, not taken advantage of.
